OPERATIVES of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, on Monday, intercepted 13 kilogrammes of a substance suspected to be hard drugs, just as three suspects were arrested in connection with the illicit cargo.

Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, Customs Controller, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMA1, Command, Comptroller Jane Shoboiki, said that the seizure was made possible with the collaboration of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA officials.

Shoboiki said the suspected narcotics were yet to be tested adding that the entire package will be handed over the NDLEA for further investigation.

The Customs boss disclosed that the shipment of the suspected hard drugs originated from Pakistan.

The suspected narcotics were neatly wrapped and put inside cartons containing men’s underwear.

Shoboiki explained that this was not the first time drugs were packaged alongside genuine cargoes adding that the first time such prohibited goods were brought into the country, it was concealed inside musical instruments.
