Ihedioha says governing task very burdensome
Owerri—Imo State governor-elect, Emeka Ihedioha has described the task before him as “very burdensome.”
Vanguard gathered yesterday in Owerri that Ihedioha made this known when another 51 governorship candidates, led by Excel Ochiama, guber candidate of Fresh Democratic Party, FDP, visited him at his residence in the state capital and declared support for his government.
It would be recalled that since declaration of Ihedioha as governor-elect, scores of governorship candidates who contested in the 2019 election have been declaring their support to work with his government.
At the event, Ihedioha promised to include some of the governorship candidates in his transition committee that would liase with the outgoing government of Rochas Okorocha.
Ihedioha further urged the former guber candidates to accept his policies and programmes aimed at liberating the state for good.
According to the governor-elect, findings have shown that there is institutional and infrastructural damages in the state and he would work harder to restore what he called the dignity of an Imo man.
Ihedioha said: “We were together in the struggle; no one was left injured. We were convinced that all of us will work together to ensure that our desire for a greater Imo will be accomplished. To that extent, I appreciate your visit. “
